KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salah Uddin Khan on safe recovery of six abductees as well as arresting kidnappers involved in these cases awarded Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officers and jawans with cash prizes and commendation certificates in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar on Monday. According to details in the first quarter of the current year Ayaz was kidnapped from jurisdiction of Faqir Abad police station, Zulfiqar from PS Gulberg, Abdul Wahid from PS Chamkani, Imran from PS Pahari Pura and Abbas from PS Swabi.

The kidnappers were demanding millions of rupees as ransom money for their safe release. The CTD team in different raids recovered all the six abductees safely and arrested majority members of three kidnappers group involved in these cases. One kidnapped person Swabi was recovered in handcuff. All the arrested kidnappers confessed their crime before the court, while the abductees had also identified all the abductors during court proceeding.

While addressing the ceremony the IGP appreciated the courageous performance and professional commitment of the CTD team. He felt proud on the performance of CTD Police added that public confidence on CTD has increased manifold due to its continued success against the terrorists especially the kidnappers.
